Foreword#

This site was made for ‘2023-2024 ULB class “How To Make (almost) Any Experiments Using Digital Fabrication”’ to document my works during the course.

Introduction#

If you want a documentation for the cours of “How to make (almost) any experimentation with digital fabrication”1 of quality, you are at the right place. The pricipal numerical tools used here are Linux and Fusion 3602.

About me#

Due to privacy, this part has been removed.

Previous work#

I like projects. To find solutions to needs and problems. So it’s not surprising that I made quite a lot of them. Personal or for courses.

Bathyscaphe#

In my first year of polytechnic, we had to make a bathyscaphe. It had to dive to 8 meters deep and go back up by itself. All that without electronics. Quite the adventure to arrive to a functional and functionning prototype.

This is the final drawing made with a CAD software. We can see the cover (in red) of the sewer pipe a.k.a. the ballast in witch all the mechanism goes.

We had only one try, at the Nemo 33 pool. At the first try we made a dive to 8.1 meter deep! The fact that the prototype emerged on it’s own was reassuring, but to attain such precision on the first try… we were ecstatic.

About this documentation#

The goal of this documentation is to allow myself to learn and remember what I learned. Someone can read this documentation, but it will not be sufficient to reproduce what has been showed. When needed and to avoid repeating documentation already made and complete, I will link some article and documentation when needed.
